GRUB STREET FOOD

Grub Street was recently named in Gourmet Traveller's 2011 restaurant guide as one of Brisbane's best cafes and judging by the stream of hungry peeps happy to queue for brekky on weekends, the foodies of Gaythorne could not agree more. Speaking of breakfast, two of Grub Street's dishes made it into GT's recent 'Great breakfast ideas' article and the Courier Mail thinks Grub is serving one of the top three weekend breakfasts in Brisbane!! We are passionate foodies who believe residents of the 'burbs deserve more than cookie cutter franchise coffees and golden arches. We believe breakfast should be as exciting as any other restaurant meal and we are constantly inventing new and exciting ways to eat pig & eggs together (as well as tasty vegetarian treats), our menu changes every couple of months so we can keep it fresh and seasonal. Chef Stix & his crew make everything from scratch and you can really taste the difference, we also sell a selection of our own relishes, jams and chutneys.

We use RSPCA approved free-range eggs and pork (bacon, leg ham & our own chorizo made to order by local butcher Meat@Billys) and preservative free bread from 'Le Sebastian'.

It's a tight little space, we squeeze just 20 inside, with seating for 20 or so outside. We love kids (especially adventurous eaters!) but as space is at a premium we usually ask that prams be left outside. As long as we're not too busy Stix is pretty happy to make a menu adjustment to suit your fussy little eater.

Opening hours:  Tuesday - Saturday 7am - 2pm, Sunday 7am - 1pm [closed Easter break & public holidays]

We don't take breakfast bookings, tables for lunch can be reserved by phoning 3855 9580.
